Description
Aghori plays the raw, traditional card. This 6-inch Indian chillum is shaped in black clay in Varanasi, one of the most emblematic cities of Indian spiritual culture. Its OM symbol and dark finish give it an immediately recognisable presence. Far from mass-produced accessories, each piece carries the small irregularities and nuances of handwork. Material, details and finish may therefore vary slightly from one piece to the next. That is precisely its charm: an object with character rather than a perfectly standardised copy. Varanasi has been shaping chillums for far longer than we have been selling them. The pieces come out of family workshops, thrown and carved by hand, fired in batches — a craft passed on in the workshop, not in a specification sheet.
We are not the workshop: we select these pieces, we use them ourselves, and we keep only the ones that hold up.
