Description
More mineral, denser, almost sculptural. Sadaiva is our Indian chillum in natural stone, an alternative to the traditional clay models that leaves all the room to the grain and nuances of the material. Each piece is made in Varanasi, India, and the stone naturally makes every one different. Veining, shade, grain and small finishing details may change with the piece you choose. These are not flaws to be erased: they are exactly what gives each Sadaiva its identity. At 5 inches, about 12 cm, the format stays fairly compact while keeping real presence. Several styles are available depending on the pieces in stock, which makes Sadaiva as much a small handcrafted object in its own right as an accessory. The historical Shiva Blends range offered several stone finishes on this model.

Handmade in Varanasi
Varanasi has been shaping chillums for far longer than we have been selling them. The pieces come out of family workshops, thrown and carved by hand, fired in batches — a craft passed on in the workshop, not in a specification sheet.
We are not the workshop: we select these pieces, we use them ourselves, and we keep only the ones that hold up.
